Martina reveals her inner journey

This is a very personal share and one that I have held back from sharing for a number of reasons – my own vulnerability, other people’s privacy, and waiting to be able to share a typical happy ending with you all. However not sharing with you  feels like denying my own wholeness and uniqueness, and playing into certain ideals of perfection that are often part of the expectation and projection that comes with being a teacher.  This is a long email… So I suggest a cup of tea and some chocolate and sit down and make yourself comfortable. And in the meanwhile I am on a plane flying home from my 3 months sabbatical in Bali and Europe.  There can be a perception on this spiritual journey that doing work on yourself brings you to a place where everything is perfect and becomes easy. This last period in my life has shown me the challenges keep coming; we just learn to deal  with them differently. Challenges occur for many different reasons and if we pay attention will always lead to new growth. When one person’s life is flowing while another person’s life is falling apart, it doesn’t mean that one is more enlightened than the other, it’s simply their unique path at that point in time. We are all growing evolving beings and this doesn’t stop even for those of us who are teachers – my constant commitment to growth means it’s always part of my life.
